For the fourteenth consecutive year IBM has won the most number of US patents in the year 2006 by securing 3,621 patents.

CSIR secured first place in the patent race 

 

The Indian Patent Office granted 3926 patents in the year 2006. The table below shows the top twelve companies that received patent grants. CSIR tops the list with 310 patents, followed by HLL and HONDA with 75 patents each.
