Narasani, CEO and

Services
Arun is an experienced patent agent with a strong technology background. He has been involved in preparing and prosecuting hundreds of patent applications in India, and US.
Arun plays an important role in developing processes and teams to deliver high quality output in the areas of patent research, patent preparation/filing/prosecution, IP strategy, IP portfolio management, and IP valuation. Arun also takes special interest in innovation leading to valuable IP. He conducts ideation sessions in technology companies to arrive at solutions to real world technology problems.
Arun is passionate about creating and enabling business models and processes that have a fundamental impact in the way organizations conduct business.
Before starting Brain League, Arun worked as a software engineer with various leading companies. He was involved in architecting, designing, and developing complex enterprise applications.
Arun is a B.Tech from IIT, Madras and P.G.
from IIM Bangalore. He also attended the advanced
licensing institute at Franklin Pierce Law Center,
New Hampshire.
Arun has published articles to his credit both in technology and
patent practice. Arun has also co-authored a book on Indian Patent Law and Practice
(with Dr. Kalyan and Ms. Vinita) published by Oxford University Press.

Dr. Kalyan
C Kankanala,

Visiting Faculty, National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
Dr. Kalyan specializes in helping companies extract and maximize business value from intellectual assets. During his illustrious career as an IP professional, he has worked closely with technology driven companies on IP Protection, Strategic IP Analysis, IP Audits, Management of IP,, Strategic Alliances, Licensing and Risk Mitigation.
Since inception of Brain League, Dr. Kalyan has been playing a pivotal role in defining new standards for IP services in India. Challenging the established perceptions and norms and redefining the way IP is practiced, he has developed novel processes and robust mechanisms for helping companies maximize value from IP. In addition to working with established companies, Dr. Kalyan also devotes his time and energy to help start ups, educational institutes and incubators leverage returns from IP.
Dr. Kalyan firmly believes that quality research and education plays a key role in providing services with high standards. In furtherance of his belief, he performs extensive research on various aspects of IP and organizes educational programs on a regular basis. Dr. Kalyan has many national and international publications to his credit, which have been cited extensively. His books entitled, Genetic Patent Law and Strategy, Asian Patent Law' and Indian Patent Law and Practice have received international acclaim and recognition from professionals in the field. He has also co-authored an international work on IP Client Strategies in the Asia-Pacific Region.
Dr. Kalyan is extremely passionate about teaching and offers courses on Intellectual Property as a visiting faculty at National Law School of India University, Bangalore and guest faculty at IIM, Bangalore. Apart from these he also spearheads some full-fledged IP initiatives such as Intellecture, the leading IP Training group for corporates, Intellepedia, an open IP initiative, Open online IP Courses, IP convergence, the first online IP newsletter in India and SiNApSE blog, a leading IP resource. These initiatives have received overwhelming response from corporate professionals and students and are playing an important role in spreading IP knowledge across the world.

Team

Nitin
Nitin heads the
electronics and telecommunications patent services
team at Brain League. As a patent manager, he
supervises projects related to the electrical,
electronics, communications and software
sectors. He works with some of the leading
companies in electronics and telecommunication
sectors on patent searching, drafting and
prosecution projects. Nitin also helps clients
make decisions on product launch and strategy by
providing FTO analysis, infringement analysis and
technology landscaping reports.
Nitin is a member of
the quality control team at Brain League and plays
an important role in defining quality processes
and standards. Before starting his career in
patents, Nitin worked with companies in the US on
projects relating to Radio Frequency and
Communications.
Nitin has completed
his Bachelors in Engineering in Electronics and
Telecommunication from Bombay University and
subsequently, pursued his Masters in Electrical
Engineering, specializing in Radio frequency
Engineering from Syracuse University, USA.

Supriya Ramacha
Supriya is the head of Chemistry and Pharma patent division.
She works with a team of patent experts having
doctorate degrees in chemistry, biotech and pharma
fields for delivering a variety of patent projects
to clients. Supriya works closely with pharma
companies on patent search, drafting, filing and
prosecution projects. Her speciality is
freedom to operate reports and patent expiry
advise.
Prior to her career in
the field of Intellectual Property, Supriya was
working with a pharmaceutical company. She
started her career as an Analytical R&D
analyst and has gained experience in and has
knowledge of pharmaceutical procedures. During her
work in the pharma sector she was involved in the
analysis and method optimization of various drug
formulations (orals, topicals and injectables),
where she was required to work closely with the
formulation development team. Her expertise
was in Multivitamin formulations. During her work
in the lab she was involved in method development
and method optimization of multivitamin
injectables and oral suspensions.
Supriya has a Masters
in Biochemistry and has completed courses on IP
from leading institutes. She is also a registered
patent agent.

Nishant
Kewalramani Head- IP
Consulting and Strategy, Brain League IP
Services
Mr. Nishant
Kewalramani heads the IP Consulting and Strategy
Division at Brain League. He holds a Masters
degree in Intellectual Property Rights, Commerce
& Technology from Franklin Pierce, USA. He is
a B.Sc. LLB (Honors) graduate from National Law
University, Jodhpur. He is a registered patent and
trademark agent.
During his career he
has worked on a variety of Intellectual Property
issues ranging from filings to strategic
management of Intellectual Property. He has
immense experience in Intellectual Property
Portfolio Management and therefore has dealt with
IP filing in various countries including the likes
of USA, India and European Union.
As the head of the
Consulting and Strategy Division at Brain League
he has been a part of various corporate training
programs. He also holds advanced certifications in
Electronic Commerce and Intellectual Property from
World Intellectual Property Organization.

Vikram Pratap Singh Thakur
As the head of the Biosciences division
at Brain League, Vikram leads a team of experts having Doctorate and Masters degrees in
various fields such as chemistry, pharmacology and
biotechnology. Vikram provides consultation
services on various aspects of IP to Health Care,
Biotech and Pharma companies. He works with some
of the leading corporate groups on various issues
relating to patents.
Vikram has experience of providing Patent
Searching and Drafting, Infringement and FTO
Analysis, Landscape analysis and Patent expiry
services in health care, biotech and pharma
domains. He has also been working closely with
several companies on launching of Generic Products
in multiple jurisdictions.
Vikram also worked with several companies on
various Open Source license analysis and
integration strategies and has research interest
in the integration of Open Source concepts to
Biotech and Pharma industry. He served as the
Editor of IP Convergence (an IP Newsletter) and is
also a guest faculty at NALSAR, Hyderabad.
Vikram has a Masters in Intellectual Property
Rights from National Law University, Jodhpur and
degrees in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology. He is
a registered patent and trade mark
agent.

Vintee
(Mishra) Tiwari Head – Strategic Alliance and
Collaboration
Vintee heads the
Strategic Alliance and Collaboration team at Brain
League. She holds a masters degree in Intellectual
Property Rights (LL.M.) from the National Law
University, Jodhpur and is a double graduate in
Law (LL.B.) and Management (B.Com (Honours)
Management). She is also an Intermediate Clear
Company Secretary and a Registered Trade Mark
Agent.
Vintee has been associated with
Brain League for the past three years and has
worked with variety of clients across the industry
domains on matters relating to all kinds of
Intellectual Property.
She is tremendously
experienced in delivering the consultancy services
relating to Intellectual Property Licensing, Open
Source Software License Analysis, making
Intellectual Property Agreement related Strategies
and Business Planning, Drafting and Reviewing of
Intellectual Property Agreements, handling
Intellectual Property Collaboration Consulting and
Handholding, Intellectual Property Agreement
Negotiations, helping companies in Intellectual
Property Excavation and Management, conducting
Intellectual Property Audits and Corporate
Training Programs on Intellectual Property.

been a Guest Faculty in various premier Law

Somshekar
"Som heads the mechanical, manufacturing and prosecution division at Brain League. Som's practice is directed to preparing and prosecuting patent applications for the clients from Automobile, machinery and tools manufacturing, packaging, robotics Industries. He advises clients on prosecution related issues and strategies to be adapted to obtain broadest possible and varied scope of protection to the invention. His team of prosecution specialists coming from various technological backgrounds and having international patent expertise work with the specification drafting team at Brain League to ensure that the specification drafted facilitates effective prosecution at a later stage.
Som brings in around six years of prosecution and drafting experience. Prior to joining Brain League, Som worked in the US at a law firm specializing in patent law and was involved in drafting and prosecuting US patent applications.
Som holds a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center, USA, and a degree in mechanical engineering.

Kumar Anjani
Head, Strategic Operations, Mumbai.
Kumar Anjani leads Brain League's team at Mumbai. In addition to managing Brain League's Mumbai operations, Anjani works closely with clients on strategic IP planning, filing, prosecution and portfolio management. He specializes in international IP activities and has helped many clients file and acquire patent and trade mark protection across the world. Before moving to Mumbai, Anjani worked in various departments of Brain League where he gained experience and expertise with respect to various aspects of IP ranging from filing to management.
Kumar Anjani is a qualified IP attorney and a registered trade mark agent. He completed his PG Diploma in IP from National Law School of India University, Bangalore and his LL.B. from Bangalore University. He is also the founding member of the IP Club, SiNApSE, which has initiated a wide range of pathbreaking IP programs.
