Arun plays a key role providing strategic direction to the company.

Arun has worked in the industry as a software engineer with various leading companies for over five years. Since the inception of Brain League, Arun has worked with some of the top companies in electronics, telecom, IT, and manufacturing domains on various IP projects including various forms of patent research, patent preparation/filing/prosecution, IP portfolio management, and IP valuation. Arun also takes special interest in innovation and conducts ideation sessions in technology companies to arrive at solutions to technology related problems.

Arun has contributed to important publications in reputed journals both in technology and law. Arun has also co-authored a path breaking work on Indian Patent Law, (published by Oxford University Press), which is the first book in India that addresses practice aspects of patent law. Arun has a B.Tech degree from IIT Madras. He also attended executive management program at IIMB and the advanced licensing institute at Franklin Pierce Law Center, New Hampshire. He is a registered patent agent in India.

Dr. Kalyan C Kankanala, Chief Knowledge Officer and Co-founder

Dr. Kalyan heads the IP Consulting division at Brain League. His forte is IP Management, Licensing and Training. During his illustrious career as an IP professional, Dr. Kalyan has worked closely with technology driven companies on IP protection, Strategic IP analysis, IP Audits, alliances and Licensing. He is the backbone of the team at Brain League that provides the legal and management components for providing services with a blend of technology, management and law.

Dr. Kalyan works very closely with start ups as well as well established companies to build IP Culture and Hygiene through various awareness and skill based programs. He is a visiting faculty at National Law School of India University, Bangalore. His national and international publications on IP have been cited in research papers and books published across the world. Kalyan’s books entitled, ‘Genetic Patent Law and Strategy’ and ‘Asian Patent Law’ (published in Japan by ten authors) have received international acclaim and recognition among professionals in the field. Kalyan has co-authored a path breaking work on Indian Patent Law, (published by Oxford University Press), which is the first book in India that addresses practice aspects of patent law.

Dr. Kalyan is an alumni of University of New Hampshire - School of Law(formerly known as Franklin Pierce Law Centre), USA and National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He is also a registered patent and trade mark agent.
